My Story

My name is Joe Kerwin. I'm a furniture salesman, a family-man, and an overly enthusiastic dancer.

I've been in the industry since I joined my father's business 37 years ago. My dad got his start selling bean bag ashtrays (pictured below) in the 50s, and he had transitioned to high-end office furniture by the 80s.

I stepped into the family business in 1986, and I took over when my father passed away just a year later.

In this interview, my dad warned me that you can't be successful doing something you don't like. My love for my job has stuck with me through 37 years of lugging heavy chairs around Boston.

I'm looking forward to more.
